The short version
Maple Point Canada is free for homeowners. We may earn a commission when you request a quote or sign up through some of the links on this site — paid by the installer or financing partner, never by you. That is how we fund our research.
What this does not change
- Our ratings and rankings. Editorial scoring is done against published criteria and is kept separate from advertising. A company cannot pay for a better score.
- The cost figures and estimates we publish.
- Our safety cautions and the catches we flag in contracts and quotes.
How advertising and editorial are separated
A partner can pay to be listed or featured, and where that is the case it is labelled. What a partner cannot do is influence the rating our editors assign, the order of a merit-based ranking, or whether we warn you about a risk. The two functions are deliberately kept apart.
This page, and a short disclosure near the top of pages with quote links, exist so the arrangement is never hidden.
Why we do it this way
Reader-paid subscriptions do not fit a tool homeowners use once or twice. Commission from partners lets the information stay free while keeping our incentives aligned with giving you an answer you can trust — because if our recommendations are not honest, the model falls apart.
